Come and join us for indoor family playtime at Trillium Lutheran Church (22 Willow Street, Waterloo) this November-December. Whether you’re looking to connect with other families or just need a space for the little ones to burn off energy, we’d love to see you there. When: Sundays, starting November 8th through December 27th (excluding December 20th). Who: Ages 0–6 (older siblings are welcome if this range is limiting for your family). What: Bring your favourite toys to share! Food (nut-free) and drinks are permitted, provided we all chip in for clean-up before heading out. Contribution: A suggested donation of $5 per family helps us cover rental costs. You can send e-transfers to manafinancials@gmail.com (password: gymplay). All are welcome to attend the Urban Forest Strategy meeting with Derek Brick on Thursday Sept 10 from 6-7:30pm at the Meeting Hall of the Community Pavilion at the Rec Centre. All Uptown/Ward 7 neighbours are invited to come prepared with questions related to the Urban forest management strategy draft in regard to our aging tree canopy in Uptown. Derek will be there to answer any questions and to take feedback ahead of the final presentation of the document to Council early this fall.

Our annual Fall Community Event is back on Friday, October 2nd at Mary Allen Park. 🧺 5–7 pm: Picnic & Live Music - Bring your own picnic and enjoy live music, cotton candy and lawn games while catching up with neighbours. 🎥 7:15 pm: Outdoor Movie - Minions and Monsters Popcorn and a cozy evening under the stars — all ages welcome! Everyone is invited, so spread the word and join us for a night of fun, food, and community. More details to come! 🍁

Have you ever wanted to try karate? Now’s your chance! Join Grand River Karate on Saturday, September 19 from 9:30 am to 10:30am for a FREE trial class at Mary Allan Park in Waterloo (95 Allen St E, Waterloo, ON N2J 1J5). Please kindly arrive 10 minutes early. Whether you’re completely new to karate or just curious to see what it’s all about, come out and give it a try! You’ll have the opportunity to meet new friends, learn new skills, and discover whether karate is right for you. You don’t need to be super fit! Our class is designed to be fun, enjoyable, and safe, with something for everyone. Bring the family! Participants are welcome from 8 years old and up. What to wear: Comfortable shoes, and comfortable clothing, What to bring: Water and sunscreen if it’s sunny, your enthusiasm and your karate spirit! Weather note: If we experience inclement weather, the class will move indoors to our dojo, located just across the park at St. Louis Auditorium, 77 Willow Street, Waterloo. Come join us, have some fun, and try something new!

Tonight is the last night for MANA Yoga in the Park. We will continue yoga starting on Tuesday, September 15, at the Church of the Holy Saviour (back door) at 7:00. Same great teachers, same great people, just a more seasonally accommodating location!!! New people are always welcome!

Hi uptown neighbours Registration is now open for Uptown Voices' fall season! We are a community of folks who love to sing for joy and connection, not perfection. No auditions, no need to read music, no performances, no previous musical experience required. We're excited to introduce our amazing new song leader, Treasa Levasseur, who is an experienced song leader and musician, bursting with creativity and new ideas. Treasa will lead us in songs from many musical traditions, focusing on songs that are easy to learn and sing. We are thrilled that our beloved and talented collaborative pianist, Tony Domzella, will be back again this fall. When: Wednesday evenings from 7-8:30pm, from September 16 - December 2 Where: Church of the Holy Saviour, 33 Allen Street East, Waterloo. The upper parish hall is a beautiful open space and fully accessible.
